Projects
- The LMBA as a partner is participating in the project implemented by the Research Council of Lithuania for the development of the database Lituanistika financed by the European Social Fund Agency (project code VP1-3.1-ŠMM-02-V-02-003). The project implementation period is 25/08/2011 – 25/08/2014.
- The LMBA as a partner is participating in the project LiBiTOP: Feasibility Study for Optimization of Lithuanian Libraries’ Network financed by the European Social Fund Agency (project code VP1-3.2-ŠMM-02-V-02-005) implemented by the Lithuanian Academic Libraries Directors' Association.
- The LMBA received financial support from the EILF Consortium for the implementation of the project Promoting Open Access in Lithuania. The project implementation is scheduled for April – November 2011.
- The LMBA as a partner participated in the project Open Journal Systems – Development Perspectives for Lithuanian Research Journals implemented by the Association of Lithuanian Serials and financed by the EIFL Consortium. Project implementation is scheduled for April – December 2011.
- On 21 July 2009 the Agreement on the implementation of the Project eMoDB.LT: Opening of Online Research Databases for Lithuania was signed among the Ministry of Science and Education, European Social Fund Agency and the LMBA. The project with a budget totaling LTL 30 million will be implemented during a three-year period (from 21/07/2009 till 21/07/2012).
- The LMBA won the Tender arranged by the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania for the procurement of services of preparation and delivery of the training/learning courses Internet Resources and New Library Services and preparation of the training courses Internet Resources for Library Customers. The project was implemented from July 2008 till April 2009.
- LMBA received a grant from East-East programme of the Open Society Institute for a study visit of Armenian librarians and IT specialists. Their goal was to find out how electronic information is subscribed, virtual library models are created, open access initiatives are developed.
- LMBA received a grant from the eIFL.net consortium for organization the 5th eIFL.net Genneral Assembly (October 28-29, 2005).
- LMBA received a grant from Open Society Institute Information Program for seminar "Open Access Workshop" during the 5th eIGL.net Genneral Assembly (October 27, 2005).
- LMBA received a grant from the Open Society Institute for seminar „Open Access Scholarly Communication Workshop”.
- LMBA received a grant from the East-East programme of the Open Society Institute in collaboration with the Open Society Fund-Lithuania for a study visit of Azerbaijan and Georgian librarians. Their goal was to find out how electronic information is subscribed, created and used by Lithuanian libraries.
- LMBA president Emilija Banionyte was elected as a board member of the eIFL.net project (2003 - current).
- LMBA participates in EIFL.net project. Coordinator in Lithuania - Ausra Vaskeviciene, Martynas Mazvydas National Library of Lithuania (2001 - current).
- LMBA received Open Society Institute grant to create infrastructure of the Lithuanian Research Library Consortium (2002 - 2004).
