and Assembly "Libraries create futures: Building on cultural heritage" was held
in Milan (Italy). LMBA president Emilija Banionytė represented LMBA at

- Juozas Šikšnelis, Director of the Klaipeda County I.Simonaitytė
Public Library, was honored Master of Culture for his outstanding
achievements for Klaipėda city. The ceremony took place in Klaipėda on
August 1st - the commemoration of Klaipėda's 757th birthday.

held in Geneva. LMBA was represented by eIFL.net Open Access coordinator

„Lithuanian Electronic Academic Library (eLABa)“ (authors G. Tautkevičienė, A.
Štreimikis, V. Kučiukas). The trip was funded by

The Ministry of Culture nominated Rimutė Abramčikienė - director of
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University Library the Best Library Leader
of the Year 2008. Audronė Kiršinaitė - Head of the Methodology Centre,
Šiauliai County Povilas Višinskis Public Library was nominated the Best
Librarian of the Year 2008. Julija Niauraitė - Head of Electronic
Information Department, Vilnius University Library was nominated the
Best Young Librarian of the Year 2008. Congratulations!
